GABA (Gamma-Amino Butyric Acid) is one of the brain's own calming and anti-epileptic chemicals, manufactured by the brain from the amino acid glutamine and glucose. Since the bloodstream does not efficiently transfer GABA to the brain, the brain relies on its own endogenous supply. It is not, therefore, clear that GABA supplements are effective calmatives. GABA-PLUS™ is a scientifically formulated and synergistic combination of the amino acid derivative GABA with Inositol and the vitamin Niacinamide designed to aid in GABA bioavailability.
